New BSP Leadership Reaffirms Support to Survivors of FSV

The succeeding BSP Group CEO Mark T. Robinson chaired his first Bel isi PNG quarterly Steering Committee meeting at the BSP Waigani Head Office (WHO) on 1st March, 2023.

The meeting was a significant one for Mr. Robinson as it had in attendance the NCDC City Manager and co-Chair, Mr Ravu Frank. Both co-Chairs reinforced their commitment to Bel isi PNG at the meeting and were acknowledged for being advocates for survivors of family and sexual violence (FSV).

BSP as an institution, has become an advocate against FSV, an advocate for FSV intervention and a financial empowerment organisation through its Financial Literacy programme, since launching its Group Family Sexual Violence policy in May, 2019.

Mr. Robinson affirmed that he is keen to continue to take a leading role in BSP’s advocacy campaigns and be a leading voice against gender-based violence (GBV). Mark, with wife Lesley have three sons and a daughter, understands BSP’s advocacy against FSV internally and how it is positively impacting its 4,500 staff and their families. He believes a community is more productive when there is less violence.

He is looking forward to participating in the annual Bel isi PNG Leadership Forum to engage with other leaders of organisations subscribing to Bel isi PNG. He also emphasises engaging with Papua New Guinean men who he would encourage to become role models and advocates to challenge and change attitudes that normalise violence in our societies and workplaces.
