TotalEnergies trains Workplace Contact Team
TotalEnergies Bel isi PNG Workplace Contact Team with Certificate Presentation, Sept 27 2024.
In September 2024, a dedicated group of volunteers, including Tetiyanah Copland, Pokiap Kusuna, Samantha Kuman, Lillian Gurina, and Helen Paulisbo, participated in a two-day Workplace Contact Team Training.
Each volunteer had a personal motivation to contribute to the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Family and Sexual Violence (FSV).
The training, held on September 10-11, provided valuable insights into the different types of abuse, signs and symptoms to identify survivors, and the role of a Focal Point. The training had a female to male ratio of 5:1, highlighting the strong female representation in this initiative.
Bung Wantaim, or townhall meetings, serve as an essential platform for staff and management to gather, either in person or virtually.
These forums are crucial for promoting Bel isi PNG and the services available to staff and contractors. Given the endemic nature of FSV in PNG society and its significant impact on work performance, Bung Wantaim is an opportune moment to raise awareness and encourage collective action against FSV.
